The soft golden glow filled the sky,

She knew, today, she’s gonna try.

Like all other days, she was afraid,

But today, she will do it anyway.

She left the sheets and grabbed her shoes,

Though weary and timid, made a move,

With grit and a heart that she tried to steady,

She was waiting. She was ready.

To embrace her past, which pulled her back,

To rejoice and cherish all that she had,

To forgive herself for once and for all,

To forgive them too, the ones she had lost.

She smiled at her courage even in the dark,

Stood for herself, with things falling apart.

Misery and strength exchanged a laugh,

As they met each other in her heart.

At a time when nothing seemed right,

She knew she got this, she will fight.
