The soft golden glow filled the sky, She knew, today, she’s gonna try. Like all other days, she was afraid, But today, she will do it anyway. She left the sheets and grabbed her shoes, Though weary and timid, made a move, With grit and a heart that she tried to steady, She was waiting. She was ready. To embrace her past, which pulled her back, To rejoice and cherish all that she had, To forgive herself for once and for all, To forgive them too, the ones she had lost. She smiled at her courage even in the dark, Stood for herself, with things falling apart. Misery and strength exchanged a laugh, As they met each other in her heart. At a time when nothing seemed right, She knew she got this, she will fight. -Jovina
A chaotic mind was waiting to be saved, A heart was shattered, amidst all the ache, Running away from a whimpering soul; Darkness was all it found aboard. It went on a spree to search a light, But the gloom had conquered all the bright; No one warned of a time like this, When there will be thorns but no petals, When it’s time for dawn but it doesn’t  break, When the murk is too thick to shake. How does one focus on what’s ahead, When the eyes are blind with tears, How does one look for the good; When the soul is shivering with fear. Leave, I told my hopeless hopes, Leave, I told the child in me. Don’t remind of blissful things No nothing can give me wings. -Jovina
She stood    alone with rusted memories, With trust falling off like autumn leaves, Shards of melancholy pricked her heart, She could see the ruin, when they saw art. She stood alone with sagged spirits, With her soaring hopes crushed to bits, And with those bits, she marched ahead, When skies were falling, and her heart bled. Her heart bled, and there was an ache, But she wanted to dream, and love again. And so she dreamed her insane dreams, With eyes full of tears and fears, And so she fought the hellish battles, With her hands full of an outrageous wear. To never stop dreaming is what she told me, Even when I am thrown to my knees, Even when I can see my world rot, Even when I just want to be lost. Her eyes shone with a willing to live, To thrive and not just to exist. I was struck, smitten, I couldn’t breathe, The warmth of her desire made me freeze. -Jovina
